Life.
It's odd to me, this thing called life.
What have we done to ourselves?
Think on it for a moment in passing, as that's all you will spare if you can spare anything at all.
We live, freely.
I was not charged anything to be born, but I do pay for it every day.
It cost nothing to make me, but I pay for it.
Even though the cost of living remains high, it's popularity has not slackened.
But what's the point at this juncture?
You and I, we suffer for the rights to survive.
Maybe we don't have it as poorly as those of lesser status, but we stress, we rush, we worry, we eat, we suffer heart burn and sleep deprevation and black lung and a thousand other ailments so that we can live.
We litterally suffer through existence.
Is it right that you should spend one third of your life (if not more) working in order to get the basics of necessities needed for your own life?
If you toil away in a mine, all in order for you to give that ore to someone else just so you can be fed for a few meals?
Seems an odd contraption that we've made for ourselves.
We stress, we are sick and we worry so that we may merely live.
What an odd life we've crafted ourselves.

Sometimes I wonder if the world wasn't better off without the technology of the years past and today.
When you would trade for things, eggs for bread, ect. When if you had a skill you could use that to get the things that you needed to survive.
Now it seems that you have to choose to do something, and then that is where you are stuck. Choose to be a truck driver, spend years doing that because that is what you know, rather than maybe where your true talent lies in art. (in Kevin's instance)
Sometimes I wonder if the past may not have been easier to live in.

Do I smell a socialist? Kidding.
In that crazy pom poko show, most the racoons without homes had to 'conform' and morphed into men and lived in the cities. The main character standing on a crowded bus with a brief case stares forward and says 'It takes a lot of strength to live the way that they do."
It got me thinking about some of the same things.
This way of life is hard. What gets to me the most is our efforts go for so little.
When you look at a lot of the people half our age, there are so many that just go on forward only because its a direction.
I thought about how people get well off by college degrees, but then there are some who work four times the amount they ever had in a life time just to feed themselves.
The arguement that comes after that is 'well they earned it, they worked hard' but it's not always the case, when you look at our NBA athletes, our hollywood movie stars .
It doesn't seem fair.
